The Moment

In a cave

Beneath the Stars

          By the shore

A soft light burned

Transformed into red embers

Became no more

Here you held my face

Here we lay vulnerable

          Locked in Place

With naked bodies

With naked Souls

In this darkness

The Shadow of Self 

Appeared

Made itself known

It said

          Fear is here

          Lend me your ear

          Give me your heart

And I 

          Felt

          Less

          Than

Tears streamed 

Suddenly

Quietly

Fear uttered quickly

Purposefully

Soft murmurs that created pain

Old words spoken

          To keep me chained

In Lies

I felt your eyes

Pierce me

Heard your voice

Whispering 

          You are Unique

          And Special

          In this one tender moment

I believed

          Those words

In this one open moment

I was unseen by Fear

          I was Yours

In a cave

Beneath the Stars

          By the shore

We gave each other

          The Breath 

               of Surrender

          And I was

Transformed

I remain, confused, unsure, imperfect; yet willing to experience Love in its mysterious way, for as long as it stays
